Designed by Sir William Chambers who studied Chinese architecture, the Great Pagoda at Kew Gardens was completed in 1762. Currently being restored, its octagonal form will be returned to its former glory resplendent with 80 gilded dragons, which originally adorned each roof. You can see hints of its design throughout the collection, in fluted sleeves and ladder lace trims.
Both Queen Mary II and Queen Anne were avid collectors of decorative Chinese porcelain, which can still be seen in the royal palaces today. The distinctive blue and white colour palette and ornate floral designs seen in their collection, inspired our own exclusive prints.
The collection also embraces this season’s trends influenced by East Asia. The rich fabrics, vivid colours and intricate patterns it’s known for, are beautifully brought to life in our luxurious Italian jacquards and opulent pure silks.
