DESK TO DINNER
It's that exciting time of year again. In winter, your diary soon fills up, calling for all kinds of outfits. For meetings, martinis and merry celebrations. So we've teamed up with Jo Elvin, Editor of YOU Magazine, to bring you a series of style guides, starting with desk to dinner. The two key pieces you need and how with just a few simple changes, you can take them from days in the office to nights on the town.
The trick to day to night dressing is a versatile foundation piece. A figure-flattering dress in a timeless print is smart for work, but chic sleeve or neck details elevate it perfectly for evening. Simply swap sleek accessories for touches of velvet and shine to be cocktail ready.
Desk, dinner, dance floor – the right jumpsuit can do them all-in-one. Look for one in a dark hue and a contemporary cut to be office appropriate. Then come 6pm, just switch a tailored jacket for a faux fur coat, add a clutch and heels, to dress it up for your night out.
If you're really pressed for time, just think accessories. A change of shoes or the addition of a belt in an of the moment finish will instantly transform an outfit.
